Texting While Driving

It seems that nowadays, common sense is something rare… or a gift that some privileged people get.

One of my pet peeves is when people drive while talking on the cell phone. Why, oh why they don’t use a microphone to have their hands free? Even worse, there are people who text while driving. Stupid much?

If you don’t think this happens, check this out:

These kind of people should have their driver’s license revoked and should be banned from driving for at least 10 years; because of their stupidity, serious accidents had happened… including the loss of lives.

Women who apply mascara or men that shave while driving scare me even more. Especially on the motorway!

Well, they should have their driver’s license revoked as well. They would take care of those things if they get up 30 minutes earlier… 15 even.

You know, Juan, there have been some studies that show even talking on the phone with a headset is more dangerous than not talking on the phone at all, while driving. Something about the distraction. Still, texting though, yeesh! I can’t tell you how many times I see someone pull out of a parking place WHILE dialing! I mean, they were parked! Couldn’t they have at least dialed first?
And Cat, I don’t think men should be allowed to drive while applying mascara, either. ;)

That’s very interesting to know! You would think that talking on the phone with a headset would be something similar to driving while listening to your favorite radio station and singing along a song you like.

Certainly, it can be more dangerous than not talking on the phone at all, but for sure – I think – it’s less dangerous than holding the phone with one hand and driving with the other. Even worse… texting…

Exactly! and that example brings me back to the lines I started my post with:

It seems that nowadays, common sense is something rare… or a gift that some privileged people get.

    My best to you!
