Velvet Hands

One of my hobbies is to transfer music from records and cassettes to my computer; restore the songs and then burn the clean versions on a CD, or just add them to my iTunes library and iPods (yes, I have two). I too scan the covers, clean them in Photoshop and add them to the album artwork.

To clean the audio files, I use Audacity. Version 1.3.4 (beta) rocks! The new noise reduction filter is great!

A few months ago I bought on eBay Bebu Silvetti's Concert From The Stars. It's a great album. All themes and songs are really good, but my favorite one, and for which I bought it, is Velvet Hands. The first time I cleaned it, the result was pretty decent, but I wanted to do it again using the new filter and... the result is just awesome! (of course, I used other filters too).

Here, let me share it with you:

Pretty cool, ain't it?

I've got around 200 albums I should probably do something with some which have never been put on CD. Once in a while I dust off the turntable, pick out a pile of vinyl and have an afternoon of analog audio.

200 albums is an impressive number. I bet you have a lot of gems in that collection.
