Well, this is it. I finally moved out from wordpress.com.

Since I'm gonna start from scratch, I didn't bother to export any of the articles I posted on the 'old' blogs. However, since there are a couple worth saving, I'm gonna repost them here.

Enjoy!

Ella

What a great new home you have. Congratulations!

From scratch? Sounds like a good name for a blog.... ;)

Wishing you great days ahead.

Welcome to your new home. :)

I do want to move mine as well, I guess I'm just very lazy!

Thanks, Cat!

Do move yours too, it's worth it. And you know that if I ever can be of assistance, I'm an email away.

Best!

w00t! I love your new digs. And, what could be more empowering than the freedom that comes with managing your own realm?

I'm just learning the self-hosting ropes myself but I made a great start because I had Root at the helm. I have made friends at wp.com who were either purged as "bad elements" or, who expect they will be the next to be labeled "inactive" and have to listen to their character's being assassinated, without being able to post responses or, who were so appalled at what went down that they simply jumped ship at the earliest opportunity.

While it's true that lLeaving the poisoned environment evident in the mother ship and moving to self hosting can be intimidating there are those with skills like you, Adam, Collin and Richard who are willing to help when required.

I also hope we all understand that "I can't afford it" is non-nonsensical argument. Quality web hosting is available and the monthly cost is not as expensive as drinking a coffee at Starbuck's every day, 5 days a week is.

I'm honoured to be among those you call friend and delighted to see the link to my blog in your blogroll.

Best wishes in all you do Juan.

Thank you, TT. It really is better to self-host; literally, you can do whatever you want with your blog.

Thanks for commenting.

I wish you all the best too!

Now, now, not everybody can afford to drink Starbucks coffee everyday.

But somebody just got given a new server and is going to learn how to use it.
